Back to the Renew America subject.
I believe we have to dispel the ideas that you can be lazy, that you can sit on the couch and collect a check. That check is something that is not earned by you sitting on the couch, its earned by hard working Americans putting in countless hours of hard labor.
The government does not provide anything. I know some will find that hard to believe, but it's absolultely true. All the government does is move resources around. They take from some and provide to others. They want to be like Robin Hood. Rob from the rich to give to the poor. That may have been a great idea when the rich were the lords of the land. They controlled everything and there was no way for the lower classes to attain any of it. But we live in America. The land of opportunity.
People all over the world want to come here, not for the free stuff, but for the opportunity to make something of their lives. The American dream is that whatever we can imagine we can achieve. And there have been numerous cases throughout our history of that happening.
But when the government gets involved with the redistribution of wealth, they stifle that dream. They take away the pride that comes with a hard days work, with a goal accomplished. And they discourage moving up.
41 million people on food stamps. People on unemployment for 99 weeks and more. These are sad statistics, but not because people are in trouble. But because these programs aren't the answer. These programs discourage people from working. Now you don't have to work, you can go to the welfare office. You can request your housing, your welfare check, your unemployment extension, your food stamps, etc.
Don't get me wrong, there are certainly those who need our help. But it is not the governments jobs to help. It is our duty, as Americans, to help those in need. The government is an inefficient bureaucratic beast that wastes our hard earned money on ineffective programs. We the people need to tell the government to get out of our lives and get out of our way, so that we can help our fellow citizens the way they need to be helped. If the government gets out of our way, lowers taxes, cuts red tape, we can give of ourselves. We can help directly. We can help through local non-profits and churches. We can help by building businesses of our own and hire those out of work.
We The People can make this country great again. We can restore the opportunity.
May The Force Be With You.
